Background:

The Middle East and North Africa Toxicology Committee was recently formed with the goal of advancing clinical toxicology in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. A medical toxicology symposium during the upcoming IECM will provide a valuable opportunity to regional and international stakeholders to meet and discuss toxicological issues that are relevant to their communities.

Objectives:

After the completion of the symposium presentations,
participants will be able to:

Discuss the latest updates in the management of acute and chronic acetaminophen toxicity
Identify and discuss snake envenomations seen in the MENA region
Describe marine envenomations of the Arabian Gulf, Mediterranean and Red Seas
Discuss the development of poison prevention and control programs in the region
Describe and discuss updates in the management of organic phosphorus compounds toxicity
